The question was posed, “What is freedom? When do you feel most free in your job? In your day? Least free? When is it better to not be free?”
I thought: Good one!
To feel free, you are detached from all responsibility and have the  liberty to do as you please without negative consequence. It is when you owe no one and you are worry free. However, I believe to truly be free you must live in the moment. I know that sounds cliche, but I mean really live in the moment. And when i say “moment” I mean the present right now. Take a second to stop thinking if you can. In this moment, what is wrong? What is urgent right now (literally)? Is there something or someone that even matters right now? There is peace in right now and freedom is a symptom of peace. Yes, bills are due, your kids need your help, class starts in 5min, you havent found anything to wear yet, and/or someone has to take the dog out for a walk, but right now NOTHING matters. You cant do anything but breathe right now. Take a second to listen to that breath, clear your conscience, appreciate life. Right now, you are free.

Freedom is a state of mind. There is never a time in life when something is not going on. Life goes on….and on and on. Time waits for no man.

Are there any book or movie genres that you were surprised to like?

              VAMPIRES=MY GUILTY PLEASURE

ABSOLUTELY fell in love with the Twilight Saga. I was embarrassed to  admit it until I completed the 1st book. A girl at work hounded me for a while about reading it because she knew how much i liked to read. I remember telling her there was no way I was reading a vampire book. I hate feeling like I have “jumped on the band wagon” so I also didn’t want to read it because EVERYONE else was. She finally convinced me to take it home one day. I read all four books in two weeks while still holding down a full time job and full time school. Needless to say, was sooooo happy I read the series. It was so good that I was thirsty for more. What a disappointment to find out she ended the series after that 4th book! I refused to watch the movies after I seen the 1st two. Just was not the same experience because they left out much detail that made the story so interesting to read. Still holding on to a silent hope that Stephanie Meyers is so bogged down in request to write another book………… Can anyone relay that message? Thanks in advance :)

Laugh out Loud!!!

Would you rather laugh with sinners,

or cry with saints?

Interesting topic! I would have to choose laugh with sinners. Everyone was born a sinner and will die one; even the saints. A saint is a sinner who chooses to strive to be perfect and repents for their sins, but they are still human. Being human makes perfection impossible. Even Jesus chose to be around the sinners rather than the saints.  However, its the laugh or cry that truly makes the decision. You see laughter is very important and the only way I would choose crying over it is if they were tears of joy or the kind that come from laughing too hard. Literally, laughter is an underrated stress reliever. Figuratively speaking, laughter represents happiness and enjoying life. I would much rather enjoy my life while I have it than to spend time doing anything less. Who says you can’t be a saint amongst sinners?

Q: HOW DO U STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF

A: By loving whoever you are, flaws and all.

So many underestimate the power of loving yourself and the damage if you don’t. Loving yourself allows you to know and accept your flaws. The strength in this is unparalleled. It disables the possibility of an enemy being able to use you against you. Ever heard, “You are your own worst enemy?”  What does it mean to you; give it some thought? We work against ourselves all the time. Always beating ourselves up to out do the next as if to say somehow who we are now or what we have now is inadequate. I’m not encouraging complacency, but I DO believe in gratefulness. Know that while yes,  there is always room for improvement, you are perfectly you.  Learning to have a positive self image and unconditional self acceptance is key. Be happy with who you are flaws and all.

money over EVERYTHING?

•October 11, 2011 • Leave a Comment

How many times have you heard someone say “money is the root to all evil”? Too many right? Well, first let me clear this misquotation up. Correctly stated, “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” 1 Timothy 6:10. Yet, daily we sing songs and lust after lifestyles that adorn loving money and placing money above all else. It’s like a disease! There are people willing to do anything for it and not afraid who knows it. Is this not our true problem as a species? Are we really blind to the damage that greed does? If not, why do we teach it to our youth? Why do we condone it in our communities? I once had a girl look at me funny and accuse me of being stuck up in the club. You see, she and all of the other girls were picking money up off of the floor like scavengers when some guy was “making it rain”. I asked her, ” What else can a person throw at you and you willing pick it up off of the floor without quarrel?” She looked at me with a face that said she didn’t like it, but I had a point. I still believe in respect over money. The same money thrown could have been handed if he just wanted to give it away. There is psychological context to things such as throwing money; all those involved are effected.

The latter part of that scripture says, in laymen s terms, some people who were eager to riches have strayed away from faith, and caused themselves a lot of pain.  Makes me think of  some lyrics from Kanye’s , “Can’t Tell Me Nothing”:

I had a dream I can buy my way to heaven
When I awoke, I spent that on a necklace.
I told God I’d be back in a second,
Man it’s so hard not to act reckless.
To whom much is given much is tested.
Get arrested, guess until, they get the message.
I feel the pressure, under more scrutiny,
and what I do? Act more stupidly.
bought more jewelry, more Louis V, my momma couldn’t get through to me.
The drama, people suing me,
I’m on T.V. talking like it’s just you and me.
I’m just saying how I feel man,
I ain’t one of the Cosby’s I ain’t go to Hill man
I guess the money should’ve changed him,
I guess I should’ve forgot where I came from.

Where would we be if everybody believed in money over everything? If people truly lived like that we would face unprecedented chaos and learn the meaning of absence of humanity. There would be a thick smoke cloud of unrest blanketing the earth due to the “many sorrows we pierced ourselves with”. Troubled spirits would spread their negative energy like wildfire.  Since negativity only breeds more negativity and everyone is living this “M.O.E.” lifestyle , doom is certain.

Now, don’ t get the message twisted. There is nothing wrong with money and having lots of it. I would be the first to admit I have a goal to be wealthy and plan to do the necessary to achieve it. However, I don’t plan to loose my self worth in the process. There is a deduction to your worth when you believe that money has the greatest value in life. When you risk your life for money, put up with things that are a danger to your health and/or wellbeing to be next to the money, maybe you should consider rehab.

What does “home” mean to you?

•October 10, 2011 • Leave a Comment

Ive always lived by the statement “Home is where the heart is.” Its one that can and has been proven time and time again. Do you think you could live contently without something you hold dear? For some its that special someone or pet, for others its an object or place. Sure, you can get another love, but truely letting go what has your heart is an inevitable process that can take a while. When its all said and done that feeling doesnt return until your heart lives somewhere else. Its human nature; we were not created to be alone.

beginning for a blog dummy

Soooooooo……………….I have to one of the least interested in technology person in the world, yet im starting a blog. LOST!!!! I LOVE to write but prefer to do it on paper. You do remember the old fashioned way don’t you? However, i figured its time to give this a try. There is money to be made in blogging or freelance writing and when it comes to technology there is a “get with it or get lost” mentality. With that said, IM READY :) . Im feeling my way around the site and reading more jargon than I can understand. For the record, Im only 24. I feel a lot older once I get on the computer trying to figure things out. Of course, I am an avid do-it-yourself-er so I’m have no clue who to even ask about this. Not even sure if im doing it right as we speak…or read…..or i speak and u read……smh! I will get it together im sure.
